Owl Digital Security provides automated, daily network security
audits and vulnerability assessments for protection from hackers. You
will know what your critical problems are and how to solve them.
Owl’s technology not only detects your problems and security gaps but
also gives you the solution.
This is what Owl Digital Security technology involves:
Intrusion Detection System
This includes Owl Digital Security real-time network monitoring system to
detect unauthorized break-in attempts. This mission-critical security feature
provides for an early detection of break-ins and the resulting quick response
by our security staff will minimize any potential losses that may be incurred
by your company.
Penetration Testing
This program involves our security technicians thoroughly testing and probing
your network in order to determine how likely an intruder can gain access to
your data and other internal resources without proper authorization. The
primary purpose of this comprehensive procedure is to assess the robustness of
access controls, passwords and your network's integrity.
Security Audits/Vulnerability Testing
One important testing feature offered by the Owl Digital Security team is
an analysis of the potential threats and vulnerabilities to your network
infrastructure. These threats could produce a clear and concise picture of the
potential for loss of data or harm to your organization. Owl Digital Security
offers a complete plan for minimizing the potential for exposure.
Scan Appliances
Owl’s network of distributed proprietary scanning servers, located in
multiple data centers in North America, South America, and Europe allows us to
reliably perform daily security audits. Each scan appliance is controlled by
our central knowledge base and vulnerability management system, allowing the
most suitable appliance to be automatically assigned to each device under test.
Security
The entire portal infrastructure, and all customer data, is maintained within a
highly secure environment with ISO17799 compliance, 24/7 on-site guards and
biometric access control. The portal resides behind high-availability firewalls
and intrusion monitoring systems. In addition, each server runs a localized
firewall and IDS/IPS on top of a uniquely customized, hardened BSD distribution
OS.
Daily Audits
Proactive vulnerability analysis and penetration testing is done by Owl on a
daily basis to your servers and specified IPs. This allows Owl to send
you daily and real-time reports.
Daily security audits are preformed in three phases: Port Scanning, Network
Services Penetration Testing, and Web Applications Vulnerability Testing. This
multi phased approach to vulnerability auditing allows Owl to perform more
accurate audits with fewer loads on your servers. It also allows us to run any
single test phase on a target to detect changes, test specific ports or
vulnerabilities, or run web application only tests on multiple web sites
residing on a single server. Scans typically take between 30-45 minutes and
transfer approximately 5 megabytes of data. These tests are designed to
represent a light-load to the device being tested. Scans are non-disruptive and
will not slow or lockup the device or service being tested.
Daily Reports
All our customers receive a daily e-mail with a status reports of all servers
and IP’s checked by Owl. The number of security “holes”
or vulnerabilities found, classified by degree of severity will be shown,
together with an explanation of each problem and its solution.

Security Checked Certification Page
OWL’S SECURITY CHECKED certification means that all accessible services
hosted on your servers are free from all vulnerabilities that can be scanned
for, including web application vulnerabilities.
Owl Digital Security technology allows the SECURITY CHECKED symbol to appear
when a website or server security status meets the highest published government
standards passing the FBI/SANS Internet Security Tests. OWL Digital SECURITY
CHECK symbol appears on a web site only when it has been checked to meet the US
Government's security standards.
A maximum of 72 hours is allowed to patch vulnerabilities before the
certification symbol is replaced by a single-dot "clear" gif image.
The certification symbol will reappear as soon as a new audit is passed.
